Last weekend I visited the Mt Seymour Watersheds. The tour bus went up a mountain trail on the North Side of the Mountain Range. This beautiful pristine area is not open to the public, but from the courtesy of the GVRD Water District they provided a free tour which started from the Parking Lot at the base of Grouse Mountain home of the NBC Today Show Broadcast of the 2010 Winter Olymics. The crystal clear lakes and creeks seem something from the past where they are still untouched by humans. It is impossible to describe the beauty of the lakes and creeks where you can actually see the bottom plants and growth. This is where Vancouverites draw some of their water from. Residents are indeed blessed to live in an area that has preserved natures wildnerness and fresh drinking water. All are invited to take this free tour but an appointment is necessary for the bus only carries a small number of people. Take a walk through history and discover the magnificence of Vancouvers North Shore Mountains. Hiking. Picnics, Fishing and Hunting is not allowed in the secured watershed area. You may see sightings of Deer, Bear and Cougar on this tour. We did see a beautiful deer on the trail at one point. At one of the tours point of attraction a picture of a group of people were on a logging train. Their clothing took them back to the 1930's or 1940's. One of the people in the picture stood out and sure did look like it was Winston Churchill, Prime Minister of England at that time period. The Tour Guide said it's not Winston Churchill or someone would have noticed it. Maybe yes, maybe no. Many of the others on the tour agreed with me.The mystery remains for there is no know record of him visiting Vancouver during this time period.
